Method Working Group

The Method Group started its work in July 2002. The working group members work through teleconferences and email to achieve their aims through literature review and group consensus.

It aims to

  1. address overarching methodological problems identified in the respective case definition working groups;
  2. develop standardized guidelines for data collection, analysis, and presentation;
  3. evaluate the case definitions developed in the working groups to refine and improve them by gaining information about their reliability, applicability, sensitivity and specificity;
  4. assess consequences of standardization of vaccine safety methods.

The minutes of teleconferences are posted for public access after group approval to ensure that the process is transparent.

Jan Bonhoeffer is the Team Leader and Coordinator who leads and assists in the development process.
Document Progress

The draft document (webdraft) is posted for comments via an online survey. The working group then reviews and discusses the results of the survey and makes changes to the document as appropriate. The survey, results, and discussion are available for review.
