Local Reactions

The Local Reaction Working Group started its work in 2001 and continues to address different local reactions. Currently, the working group is defining "a local reaction at or near the injection site." A webdraft is currently available for comments and feedback.

Previous Local Reaction Working Groups have created published (Vaccine) documents of case definitions and guidelines of:
  • Nodule (2004)
  • Abscess (2007)
  • Cellulitis (2007)
  • Induration (2007)
  • Swelling (2007)

The working group members work through teleconferences and email to arrive at a case definition document through literature review and group consensus. The group has a Coordinator to lead and assist in the development process.

Team Leaders From Previous Local Reaction Working Groups: Leslie Ball (Abscess), Scott Halperin (Cellulitis), Edward Rothstein (Nodule), & Wikke Walop (Induration & Swelling)

Coordinators: Katrin Kohl and Jane Gidudu
