Brighton Collaboration


The Brighton Collaboration, is an international voluntary Collaboration founded in 1999 by scientists from all aspects of immunization safety, and is coordinated by staff in the United States and Switzerland. It is

> Aiming to develop, evaluate, and disseminate high quality information about the safety of human vaccines.

> Connecting hundreds of highly qualified professionals from patient care, public health, scientific, academic, pharmaceutical, regulatory, and professional organizations from developed and developing countries worldwide.

> Working hand in hand to build partnerships through scientific independence, free from conflict of interest and commercial interest.

> Serving the need of the global community concerned with immunization safety.

> Reporting, analyzing, and facilitating evidence-based immunization safety information for the public.

> Increasing the safety of pre- and postlicensure vaccines by standardizing immunization safety assessment methods.

> Enabling regulatory authorities to make decisions based on comparable data.

> Enhancing the understanding of safety issues associated with immunization for health care providers.

> Providing the basis for improved post-licensure surveillance, aiming to detect rare adverse events and programmatic errors.
